Periwinkles <p> Periwinkles are one of the most overlooked and underrated members of the seafood family. But you could also bathe them in butter and garlic if you so choose. Makes a great appetizer and it&#39;s fun to master the technique of getting those little guys out of their shell.</p>

    I shared these once with friends who brought out a bottle of champagne. They were so entranced with these tasty perriwinkles and topped it off with the bubbly..

    These have so much flavor packed in a little squiggle. We used to see who could get them out of the shell without breaking them. A definite skill well worth mastering.

    They are yummy! I like to put a little of vermouth in the boil. Drunken periwinkles!
