Beverages » Sweet Tea
Ice-cold tea is a real heat-buster which is why it's a summer favorite in the North and ever-present in the South. Water, tea, sugar. Three simple ingredients. But it's all about using good quality tea and being able to wait five minutes while the tea infusion takes place. Seems longer when you're thirsty!
Ingredients
- 3 tea bags (Ceylon black tea or green tea)
- 4 cups water
- ½ cup sugar
Optional
- mint
- lemon
How-to
- Pour hot water over sugar to dissolve it. For every 4 cups of water use ½ cup of sugar (or to taste)
- Add tea bags and let brew for 5 minutes
- Add ice to chill the tea and strain into decanter
- And mint or lemon if you wish
