Q:
I don't eat red meat... Can I replace ground beef with ground turkey in any recipes? Or do I need to further alter the recipe?

A:Absolutely. However, the flavor is in the fat so I would recommend you use dark turkey meat and not white turkey meat which will dry out quicker.Posted Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 3:33 pm by Lynne

A:Yes I use Turkey mince instead of beef & or chicken mince in recipes I found that my recipe for meatloaf which calls for minced beef (ground round) tasted great, I DID NOT ALTER my recipe BUT I did notice when meatloaf was cooked, the dish was much lighter in colour Also Turkey meat is much lower in fat than chicken Have you ever noticed when checking out the display in Deli section for fresh meat, the turkey mince is much redder than the chicken mince which appears much whiter due to all the fat added. Besides tasting great in Sydney Australia turkey meat is much cheaper That was my initial reason for using it. I was not aware then of the healthier alternativePosted Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 4:24 am by KrystynaCooks
