Dani's Royal Icing - makes 5 cups
Ingredients
- ½ cup meringue powder
- 2 lbs confectioners sugar
- 1 cup cold water
Cookies
- favorite chocolate cookie recipe, cut into sheep shapes, baked & cooled
Decorations
- food coloring
- dragée candy for eyes
- mini marshmallows for wool

- hand mixer
- squeeze bottles
- tweezers
- toothpicks
How-to
Prepare Royal Icing

Using a hand mixer, beat together meringue powder and water

Slowly beat in sugar, until combined

Set aside some of the white icing; tint remaining icing with brown food coloring
Decorate Cookies

Bake and completely cool your favorite chocolate cookies

Once cookies have cooled, outline the head, feet and tail in brown royal icing. Then fill in the areas by smoothing the icing with a toothpick

Place a dragée candy eyeball, then let the icing dry for a couple of hours

After icing has hardened, follow the outline of the cookie with white royal icing, then fill in with icing in a zigzag fashion. Use a toothpick to smooth out the icing and give the cookie a shake to further smooth out the icing

Place mini marshmallows around the perimeter of the white icing and then fill in with more marshmallows for the wool

Let dry overnight, then store in an air-tight container or wrap in plastic and tie with a ribbon for a great edible gift!
