How-to
Prepare Royal Icing
- Using a hand mixer, beat together meringue powder and water
- Slowly beat in sugar, until combined
- Set aside some of the white icing; tint remaining icing with brown food coloring
Decorate Cookies
- Bake and completely cool your favorite chocolate cookies
- Once cookies have cooled, outline the head, feet and tail in brown royal icing. Then fill in the areas by smoothing the icing with a toothpick
- Place a dragée candy eyeball, then let the icing dry for a couple of hours
- After icing has hardened, follow the outline of the cookie with white royal icing, then fill in with icing in a zigzag fashion. Use a toothpick to smooth out the icing and give the cookie a shake to further smooth out the icing
- Place mini marshmallows around the perimeter of the white icing and then fill in with more marshmallows for the wool
- Let dry overnight, then store in an air-tight container or wrap in plastic and tie with a ribbon for a great edible gift!
