BBQ Sauce & Brine will make enough for about 40 Jumbo Party Wings
Ingredients
Chicken
- Approximately 40 jumbo chicken wings
Brine
- ½ gallon cold water
- ½ cup salt
- ½ cup sugar
BBQ Sauce
- 2 cups favorite store-bought BBQ sauce
- 1 cup hot sauce
- 2 oz honey
- 2 oz mustard
- 2 tbsp crushed chili flakes
- 2 tbsp sriracha hot chili sauce
How-to
Brine Wings
- Combine water, salt and sugar and mix well
- Wash wings in cold water
- Submerge in brine overnight
Make BBQ Sauce
- Mix all BBQ Sauce ingredients well and refrigerate one day before use
- Remove sauce from refrigerator a few hours before cooking the wings so that sauce is room temperature
Cook Wings
- Preheat oven to 400º
- Remove wings from brine, place on a sheet pan lined with paper towels and pat dry
- Place wings on a separate sheet pan with a lip
- Lightly season with salt, pepper, and paprika (or use your favorite dry rub)
- Bake wing for 20 minutes
- Remove wings from oven and flip onto other side and bake for an additional 20 minutes. (Ovens vary in cooking time; internal temperature of wings should be at least 170º)
- Transfer wings onto a serving pan, pour BBQ sauce onto them and mix until wings are evenly coated
