Apple Sauce
Ingredients
- 2½ lbs apples (Cortland or Macoun), cored & rough chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 2-3 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp water or apple cider
Special Equipment
- chinois or fine-mesh strainer
How-to
- Place all ingredients in a pot and cover
- Bring to a boil. Lower heat to medium and cook for 20-30 minutes
- Strain through a chinois or fine mesh strainer
- Return to stove for 5-7 minutes to rewarm
- Apple sauce will keep in the refrigerator for 5 days
