Pie Crust Decorations
Ingredients
- leftover chilled pie dough (see Susan Reid's Pie Crust 101 video here on how2heroes)
- 1 egg + small amount of water for eggwash
- sparking sugar
- cookie cutters
- plastic wrap
- rolling pin
- parchment paper
How-to
- Preheat oven to 425º (adjust higher or lower if you just baked a pie)
- Roll chilled dough to ¼" to ⅛" thick thick
- Cut shapes and score lightly with a knife
- Brush with eggwash and sprinkle with sparkling sugar
- Bake at 425º for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown
- Add to one-crust pie as decoration or cover filling completely as top crust
