Maple Bars
Ingredients
- ⅔ cup sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup rolled quick oats
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ cup shortening
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup maple syrup (dark recommended for this recipe)
Special Equipment
- 8" x 10" baking pan
How-to
- Preheat oven to 375º
- Mix to combine all ingredients together in a large bowl
- With a spatula, spread mixture evenly, about ½" thick, on a greased 8" x 10" baking pan
- Bake at 375º for 30 minutes
- Cut into squares while still warm
