Frozen Frankenstones
Makes 6 Frankenstones
Ingredients
For Frankenstones
- 1½ quarts ice cream (square cartons work best)
- M&M's or Reece's Pieces candies, chopped
- fun sized candy (Kit Kat fingers, chopped chocolate bars like Snickers, Twix, etc.)
- Magic Shell chocolate coating
- chocolate animal crackers, crushed
- mellowcream pumpkin candies
- icing tubes or food jell for decorating
Equipment
- loaf pan
- plastic wrap
How-to
- Line a loaf (bread) pan with plastic wrap so it extends 3" - 4" beyond pan
- Pour M&M's or Reece's Pieces into a blender and pulse until they are crushed. Set aside
- Cut away the cardboard carton of the ice cream container and slice the ice cream lengthwise. Add the to the lined pan to cover the bottom
- Add crushed M&M's or Reece's Pieces to cover. Add another layer of ice cream, then top with chopped chocolate candy bars or Kit Kat fingers. Repeat this process, alternating between ice cream and candy until the loaf pan is filled, ending with a layer of ice cream. Ensure that the ice cream is spread to the pan's edges
- Cover with cling wrap and freeze for at least 6 hours
- Remove from freezer and invert onto a cutting board, pulling on the cling wrap to remove the ice cream loaf from the pan
- Cover a plate with a large pool of Magic Shell (this will help stabilize the dessert)
- Using a very sharp knife, slice off a slab of ice cream and set atop the Magic Shell on plate (work fast — the Magic Shell hardens quickly!)
- Cover the sliced ice cream with more Magic Shell and wait a few seconds for it to harden
- Decorate "tombstone" with tube icing or food gel, sprinkle crushed cookie "dirt" and add mellowcream pumpkins
- Eat immediately, or freeze until serving
