Cherry Ice Cream
Serves 8-10
Ingredients
- 2 cups of fresh cherries (any kind of cherries work sweet or tart & what's in season) + extra for garnish (optional)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups whipping cream (heavy cream)
- 1 tsp vanilla
Special Equipment
- cherry pitter
- blender
- ice cream maker
How-to
- Remove pits from cherries
- Add ingredients to a blender and blend for about 1-2 minutes, until sugar is completely dissolved
- Add to an ice cream maker (make sure to follow manufacturer's directions for use), and process 20-25 minutes
- Once out of the ice cream maker, serve immediately for soft-serve consistency, garnished with fresh cherries, or place in a freezer-safe container and freeze for an additional 1-2 hours for firmer ice cream
