Buttermilk Pie
Serves 8
Ingredients
- 1-1¼ cups sugar
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 9" pie shell
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
How-to
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Using a mixer or by hand, cream butter, sugar and eggs until combined
- Add buttermilk and stir to combine
- Gradually add flour and continue to mix until flour has been fully incorporated
- Add vanilla extract and continue to mix
- Pour filling into pie crust and bake until golden brown and set, 40-45 minutes. The pie will still show movement in the center, but will firm after cooling
- Allow pie to cool completely on wire rack before serving
