Pork Sausage Patties
Makes about 20 patties
Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped onions
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp milk
- ½ cup panko bread crumbs
- 2 lb ground pork (avoid lean meat)
- 2 large egg yolks
- 2 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp white pepper
- ⅛ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- ¼ tsp cayenne
- 1 tsp chopped thyme leaves
- 1 tsp chopped sage
How-to
- Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a small heavy skillet over medium-low, stirring occasionally until softened and slightly browned, about 10 minutes. Cool completely
- In a large bowl combine bread crumbs and milk and let stand until crumbs absorb milk
- Add onions and remaining ingredients to crumb mixture and mix until well blended
- Form into 3" patties (about ½" thick) with dampened hands. If eating/cooking immediately, heat 1 tsp vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Cook patties 2 minutes per side. If freezing, place into plastic sandwich bags and freeze for up to 30 days
