Venus in Furs

Ingredients

  • 1 oz bourbon
  • ¾ oz Cointreau
  • ½ oz honey syrup (equal parts honey and water)
  • ¼ oz lemon juice
  • few dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • 1-¼ oz champagne
  • orange zest to garnish

How-to

  1. Fill a pint glass with ice
  2. Pour in the bourbon, Cointreau, honey syrup, lemon juice and the bitters (which gives it that great color)
  3. Cover glass with a shaker and give the drink a good shake
  4. Strain into a chilled glass
  5. Top with champagne and garnish with fresh orange zest
